South Shore Medical Center Opens Flu Clinic Scheduling, Appointments Begin September 26
This post was updated on September 16, 2020.
Like all aspects of our lives, COVID-19 has upended South Shore Medical Center’s usual flu vaccine clinic process.
Our hard-working team is finalizing plans to distribute flu shots as efficiently and safely as we possibly can during a pandemic.
Scheduling for fall flu clinics at South Shore Medical Center is now open. The clinics themselves will begin on September 26.
Appointments are required for all flu shots. Walk-ins are not permitted.
Patients may have heard from friends or neighbors that we have flu shots. This is true, but flu shots are currently offered to patients at previously scheduled appointments only.
We do this in order to prevent those patients from needing to make a return trip in the coming weeks, minimizing in-person trips to our practices.
These dates are in line with our usual start dates for our annual clinics.
We will have plenty of appointments available at all locations for patients of all ages to receive their flu shot, including children who must receive the vaccination by January 1, 2021, per state mandate.
Evening and weekend times will be available as well.
Patients should book their flu vaccine appointments via South Shore MyChart.
For patients who would like to receive a flu shot before September 26, Health Express, part of South Shore Health, currently has flu vaccines available at all seven of its South Shore walk-in urgent care locations. No appointments are required.
We will provide updates on this year’s flu clinics as they become available.
We appreciate your patience as we work to deliver this year’s flu vaccine in the safest possible way.
