BEACON AWARD FOR CRITICAL CARE EXCELLENCE
American Association of Critical Care Nurses
South Shore Hospital’s Critical Care Unit has been given the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) Beacon Silver Award for improving patient and family outcomes and overall satisfaction, for the third consecutive time. It is one of only two CCU’s in Massachusetts to receive the association’s Silver Award for the 2020-2023 period.

American Nurses Credentialing Center
South Shore Hospital has joined a prestigious list of health care organizations that have been recognized as part of the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program®. ANCC’s Magnet Recognition Program recognizes health care organizations that demonstrate excellence in nursing services. Magnet® recognition is the highest national credential for nursing excellence, serving as the gold standard for nursing practice. Continued excellence in nursing has led to our third four-year Magnet designation.
OPTUM CENTER OF EXCELLENCE DESIGNATION FOR BARIATICS
South Shore Hospital Center for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery has received the Optum Center of Excellence Designation (COE). The recognition allows South Shore Hospital to perform bariatric surgery on United Healthcare patients and confirms the Center for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery is clinically superior to other bariatric programs.
