South Shore Health and Boston Children’s Hospital Celebrate Opening of Boston Children’s Norwell

South Shore Health and Boston Children’s Hospital recently celebrated the opening of Boston Children’s Physicians Norwell with a ribbon cutting at South Shore Medical Center, 143 Longwater Drive in Norwell. The new location expands the organizations’ long-standing collaboration and brings more pediatric specialty and surgical care to families across the South Shore.

“For more than 20 years, South Shore Health and Boston Children’s have worked together to provide high-quality care for children, including services at South Shore Hospital’s NICU, Pediatric Inpatient Unit, and Pediatric Emergency Department,” said Sam Skura, EVP, Chief Operating Officer, South Shore Health. “The new Norwell site strengthens that collaboration by making specialty care easier to access close to home.”

Boston Children’s physicians are now offering care in Norwell in the following specialties:

• Adolescent Medicine
• Allergy
• Cardiology
• Endocrinology
• Gastroenterology
• General Surgery
• Gynecology
• Nephrology
• Pulmonology
• Rheumatology
• Urology
   

The collaboration also expands pediatric surgical access on the South Shore. Surgeons from Boston Children’s in General Surgery, Gynecology, and Urology will perform elective procedures at South Shore Hospital, building on existing surgical services and allowing families to receive advanced care without traveling into Boston.
