Mark Your Calendars: South Shore Health Community Walk Set for Saturday, June 21!
It’s time to make waves and help make a difference in support of South Shore Health!
The South Shore Health Community Walk is set for Saturday, June 21 along Wessagusset Beach and surrounding neighborhoods in North Weymouth.
Parking will be at the Wessagusset Beach parking lot on Arthur Street and the walk will start/finish at the Wessagusset Elementary School.
Money raised will help support vital services and programs used by South Shore Health patients and colleagues!
WCVB-TV Meteorologist Mike Wankum will return as emcee and kick-off the event beginning at 8:30 AM.
Registration is $25 for adults, $10 for students ages 6-18, and free for children under age 5. In addition to its new location, this year’s walk offers a 5K route, as well as a shorter 1-mile stroll along scenic beachside neighborhoods.
Participants are encouraged to earmark their fundraising dollars in support of seven areas of need: Behavioral Health and Substance Use Disorders, Cancer Care, Critical Care, Maternity Care and Pediatrics, Palliative Care, the South Shore Health Colleague Wellbeing Fund, and the South Shore Health Fund Greatest Need.
“Every dollar raised by participants will directly serve our community,” said Lauren N. Spencer, SVP, Chief Development Officer, South Shore Health. “The Cancer Center at South Shore Health, South Shore Hospital’s Critical Care Unit, and the Level II Trauma Center are just a few examples of the advanced, life-saving care we are able to provide because of steady philanthropy. Participating in the South Shore Health Community Walk is an opportunity for our supporters to make a tangible impact.”
