South Shore Health Welcomes Two New Members to Its Board of Directors

South Shore Health today announced the appointment of two distinguished leaders, Rick Russell and Mark J. Flaherty, to its Board of Directors.
Their combined expertise, commitment, and organizational leadership will help strengthen South Shore Health’s governance and support its mission to provide exceptional care to the communities of the South Shore.
Rick Russell, Co-Founder and CEO of TRACT BIO, joins the Board after years of service to the South Shore Health Foundation. Russell currently serves as Chair of the Foundation Board and co-Chairs the Development Committee.
A biopharma executive with extensive U.S. and European leadership experience, he is a graduate of Bates College and the University of New Hampshire. Russell lives in Scituate with his family and has demonstrated sustained philanthropic commitment to South Shore Health.
Mark J. Flaherty, President of A.W. Perry, brings more than three decades of financial and operational expertise. Since joining A.W. Perry in 2006, he has served as Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and now President, and has been a member of the company’s Board since 2018.
His background includes senior accounting leadership at Reed Business Information, where he oversaw a 2.1 million-square-foot U.S. real estate portfolio.
