​​​​​​​South Shore Medical Center (SSMC), part of South Shore Health, will celebrate its 60th anniversary on March 24, 2022. The milestone marks six decades of high-quality patient care on the South Shore.

At South Shore Medical Center, we know that trust and transparency are key to a strong relationship with your care provider. With that in mind, we wanted to acknowledge some of the challenges patients have experienced in recent months and discuss the steps we’re taking to address those challenges.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (Blue Cross) and South Shore Health System have launched a first-of-its-kind pilot program to improve patient care, slow the rise of health care costs, and change the way hospitals are paid.

Each week will feature special discounts or promotions, beginning in September and leading up to Christmas. All proceeds from The Friendly Shop support patient care at South Shore Health.
