Provider Spotlight: Benjamin Hixon, PA-C

“What brings you here today?” 

That’s the first thing Ben Hixon, PA-C asks his patients when he walks into the exam room.

“I try to identify what the patient is trying to get out of the visit,” Hixon said. 

“If I know where they are at, I can make the patient experience better.”

A provider at South Shore Health Urgent Care since 2020, Hixon said he enjoys the variety and range of care he is able to provide patients each day.

Being able to address a patient’s health concerns in the moment is another rewarding part of the job, Hixon said. 

“In urgent care we’re able help the most people and treat them right then and there, so that when they leave our office, patients feel their problem has been solved,” he said. 

Hixon said educating patients about next steps and how to navigate healthcare effectively is an important part of every visit.

Most injuries, illnesses and conditions can be treated at South Shore Health Urgent Care, Hixon said.
