Thomas McCarthy, ChFC®, AIF®, Managing Partner of KAF Wealth Management, was named a finalist for the Community Service Award from the Invest in Others organization, which honors financial advisors nationally for outstanding charitable work. In recognition of McCarthy’s service and commitment, the Invest in Others Charitable Foundation awarded $25,000 to South Shore Health in his honor.

The $5.3 million donation will help expand and support South Shore Hospital’s Emergency Department, emergency services, and programs.

Nominated by South Shore Health, the community-minded philanthropist is recognized for his significant contributions to the independent regional healthcare system.

The new unit, located on the first floor near the hospital’s Main Entrance, doubles short-stay capacity from 10 to 20 beds.
