Thomas McCarthy, Managing Partner of KAF Wealth Management, Recognized as National Finalist; $25,000 Awarded to South Shore Health in His Honor

South Shore Health is proud to announce that Thomas McCarthy, ChFC®, AIF®, Managing Partner of KAF Wealth Management, was named a finalist for the Community Service Award from the Invest in Others organization, which honors financial advisors nationally for outstanding charitable work.
In recognition of McCarthy’s service and commitment, the Invest in Others Charitable Foundation awarded $25,000 to South Shore Health in his honor.
“Each year, the Invest in Others Awards recognize financial advisors who are making a meaningful difference through their charitable work,” said Barkley Payne, President and CEO of the Invest in Others Charitable Foundation. “Tom’s dedication to South Shore Health demonstrates the power of leadership, compassion, and volunteerism in building stronger communities.”
McCarthy’s connection to South Shore Health began more than 30 years ago, inspired by the care a close friend received from South Shore VNA, a division of the health system.
Since then, he has served as Chair of the South Shore Health Foundation Board, led multiple campaigns, including efforts that helped establish the Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center at South Shore Health and build South Shore Hospital’s critical care unit, and is the current Chair of South Shore Health’s Board of Directors.
McCarthy noted that a past cancer diagnosis further strengthened his commitment.
“I witnessed first-hand what an amazing organization South Shore Health is at the patient level,” he said. “I am deeply grateful for the care I received and more dedicated than ever to helping the organization thrive.”
