Colleague Spotlight: Celebrating Alisha Cardoso and Ana Colson!
Each month, South Shore Health gives the Colleague Spotlight Award to a colleague who demonstrates exemplary behaviors, actions, and/or work practices that reflect the values of South Shore Health.
The Colleague Spotlight recipients for April 2022 are Alisha Cardoso and Ana Colson, who are both phlebotomists at South Shore Hospital!
We're grateful to Alisha and Ana for the patience and compassion they show to each patient, but particularly to our young patients.
Recently, a grateful mother shared a note of appreciation recognizing Alisha and Ana's care when she brought her daughter in to have blood drawn.
After a lack of success at a different facility, the mother was concerned about her daughter having trouble again - but thanks to Alisha and Ana's expertise, they were able to find the right vein and draw the blood without issue.
"Alisha and Ana deserve this award," said Lisa Johnston, Supervisor of Phlebotomy Outreach. "When we have a very special child, they take the extra time to work as a team, to put the patient at ease and put the parent at ease."
