Pamela Whelton, President of South Shore Hospital, sat down with Ed Baker of the Weymouth News to talk about her longstanding career at the hospital, her ties to the Weymouth community and her vision for South Shore Health.

South Shore Health’s 33rd annual Golf Classic is set for Monday, May 23, and will be held at two locations: Plymouth Country Club and the Pinehills Golf Club in Plymouth, Mass.

Khalil Alleyne, MD, has been named Chief of Family Medicine at South Shore Medical Center. In his new role, Dr. Alleyne will oversee the Family Medicine Department while supporting providers, developing new programs and processes, and striving to enhance clinical medicine.

The new unit, located on the first floor near the hospital’s Main Entrance, doubles short-stay capacity from 10 to 20 beds.
