This is the fourth consecutive verification for South Shore Hospital. As a Level II Trauma Center, the hospital is equipped to handle all critical injuries, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The new training program, held October 20, fulfills state requirements for “Nero’s Law," which allows medical personnel to provide life-saving treatments on police K9s.

For the fifth consecutive time, South Shore Hospital has earned an “A” safety grade rating from The Leapfrog Group, a designation that ranks the hospital among the safest in the Greater Boston area and the United States.

The recognition allows South Shore Hospital to perform bariatric surgery on United Healthcare patients and confirms the Center for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery is clinically superior to other bariatric programs.
