Weymouth-based Advanced Green Insulation has made a gift of over $32,000 to South Shore Health’s Breast Care Center, a licensed clinic within the Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center in clinical affiliation with South Shore Hospital.

Advanced Green Insulation performs services for new and existing homes and businesses throughout Massachusetts. The owners of Advanced Green Insulation, Israel Jesus Barroso and Kathy DoAmaral started their company in 2012 and have been located in Weymouth for six years.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Barroso and Doamaral decided to donate a portion of the company’s October profits to the Breast Care Center.

“This is a very important cause,” DoAmaral explained. “We wanted to give back to our community and on behalf of the breast cancer survivors on our staff.”

On Saturday, October 31, Barroso and DoAmaral brought together employees, dressed in pink shirts, masks and gloves, and members of the South Shore Health Foundation for a check presentation and celebratory breakfast in the company’s warehouse, which was decorated with pink insulation.

“We are so very grateful and humbled by the generous donation made by Mr. Barosso, Ms. DoAmaral and their staff," said Jennifer Croes, Executive Director of the Cancer Center.

“The funds donated by Advanced Green Insulation will be used to support patient care services, operational expenses and the expansion of technological capabilities in imaging and diagnostic pathology,” Croes said.

A portion of the funding will also support the Compassionate Cancer Needs Fund to help cancer patients and their families in financial need.

The Breast Care Center sees upwards of approximately 2,000 new patients each year. The clinic, which serves Southeastern Massachusetts and other locations, specializes in cancerous and non-cancerous diseases of the breast.

Additionally, patients who are at an increased risk for breast cancer are cared for, evaluated and followed by providers. Mammography and diagnostic imaging services are available on site.

Individuals who would like to make a donation of any size to South Shore Health can do so through the South Shore Health Foundation. Checks can be mailed to 55 Fogg Rd, Weymouth MA 02190 or gifts can be made online.
