Ride the 2022 Pan-Mass Challenge with Team South Shore Health!

Join Team South Shore Health and participate in this year’s Pan Mass Challenge (PMC) in support of patients battling cancer!

On August 6 and 7, the team will hit the road - fulfilling their promise to fundraise for cancer care services and programs on the South Shore.

“The PMC is a monumental effort and it’s the best of humanity on display,” said Len Bicknell, Team South Shore Health captain. “Thousands of riders and volunteers pull together to get everyone who participates to the finish. It’s my favorite weekend of the year and I’m thrilled to be back on the road raising money for those struggling in the fight against cancer.”

This year’s PMC will include 16 pre-mapped, fully supported route options, ranging from 25 to 211 miles, with varying levels of fundraising goals. Riders will also have the opportunity to participate in the Reimagine Ride – which allows participants to chart their own route and conveniently customize the distance, location, and date of their ride. For those not ready to ride in-person, a virtual option with no fundraising minimum will allow cyclists to create their own route, log miles over time, or not get on a bike at all!

“Now is the time to register because the routes will sell out fast,” said Bicknell. “Every dollar raised helps support our neighbors fighting cancer and puts us closer to stopping this deadly disease.”

Last year, Team South Shore Health raised more than $240,000 for cancer care services and programs. To date, riders for South Shore Health have collectively raised more than $1 million over the last six years.

“The funding we receive from Team South Shore Health is critical to the operations and to so many other programs at our Cancer Center,” said Jen Croes, Executive Director of the Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center in clinical affiliation with South Shore Hospital. “It is truly remarkable to have a team of dedicated cyclists willing to ride for us! We are incredibly grateful for their unwavering support!”

Registration opens for PMC alumni on Tuesday, January 11 and for new riders on Tuesday, January 18.
