Each month, South Shore Health gives the Colleague Spotlight Award to a colleague who demonstrates exemplary behaviors, actions, and/or work practices that reflect the values of South Shore Health.

We're pleased to announce that Kimberly LeBlanc, RN, MSN, CCRN is the recipient of the Colleague Spotlight Award for May!

Kim is a Pediatric Nurse Manager at South Shore Medical Center.

Recently, Kim identified inefficiencies in how South Shore Medical Center was using its pulse oximeters and suggested an alternative approach that would deliver the same results at a fraction of the cost.

Kim's initiative projects to save the Medical Center hundreds of thousands of dollars on a yearly basis while still providing the same level of care for patients.

"[Kim] is always looking for better ways to do things and to provide additional support for her staff, the providers, and the pediatric patients," said Joanne Hogan, DNP, RN, Associate Chief Nurse for South Shore Health's Ambulatory Division.

Thank you, Kim, for your attention to detail and for always putting your colleagues and patients first!
