Vascular Surgery
World-Class Vascular Care. Close to Home.
South Shore Health's vascular surgery team provides the highest quality care to treat vascular disease—the term used for problems that affect blood flow throughout the body’s blood vessels. Vascular disease involves multiple systems of the body and requires the close collaboration of highly-skilled specialists, using the most advanced technology available, to treat it.
Our team is comprised of six board-certified vascular surgeons, all of whom have trained at Boston hospitals. These experts are supported by physician assistants (PAs) and nurse practitioners (NPs) that are specially trained in supporting patients with vascular disease. Additionally, patients have a vascular care navigator to help them through their journey.
South Shore Hospital is an accredited Vein Center. This indicates that the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) found that South Shore Hospital demonstrates a commitment to quality patient care in vein treatment and management.
South Shore Hospital is home to the region's most state-of-the-art endovascular operating suite. The machine enables our vascular experts to obtain high-quality angiography images in the operating room, allowing our team to perform complex “hybrid” procedures to treat a wide range of vascular diseases in a minimally invasive way—right here on the South Shore.
Surgical treatments:
- Aortic stent grafts
- Carotid artery surgery with brain wave monitoring
- Lower extremity bypass and stenting
- Complete management of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
- Minimally invasive techniques for varicose veins
Our vascular experts work in close collaboration with the team at the South Shore Health Center for Wound Healing as part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to managing complex wounds, including foot ulcers associated with diabetes.
