Being a physician is an honor and a privilege I have enjoyed since graduating from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1979.  As my patients know I am interested in your life, your passions and the Orthopaedic issues that frustrate you and how I might be of assistance to you.  Surgery is not always a solution.

I take care of newborn infants and their great grandmothers.  In an era of sub-specialization, I am the "silver haired" General Orthopaedist but have maintained my surgical skills and remain confident in my abilities.  I have been fortunate to have treated multiple generations of my friends and neighbors here on the South Shore and work in a hospital committed to clinical excellence and compassionate care.

My mission is to relieve pain and suffering by healing patients' wounds as fast as possible.

I have been practicing plastic surgery with an emphasis on complex wounds since 1999.  In addition to providing advanced wound care, surgical treatment and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, I am passionate about educating the next generation of physicians and participating in research that will transform the science of wound care. As the Research Director, I coordinate and lead clinical trials of potential new wound  therapies, providing the opportunity for our patients to participate in their own community.

I have been providing medical and surgical foot and ankle care to the greater South Shore community since 1996. I first joined the medical staff of South Shore Hospital in 1997 and have been working with South Shore Medical Center since 2004. Some of my clinical interests include Podiatric Surgery and Sports Medicine of the foot and ankle.
