My mission/focus is to provide educational and compassionate care to my patients and families during their more vulnerable moments.

I feel it is a privilege to be on all of my past and future patients care teams. I understand the gravity behind choosing a provider for a loved one, and I take that decision to heart. I believe in having open dialogue with my patients so that I can best assist them in crafting a unique care plan towards their goals with the best evidence based practice. When I am not at work I enjoy spending time with family and friends and going to the beach.

My mission is to teach patients how better health habits can prevent many diseases.  

It is a privilege to help people and establish long-term relationships with my patients. I believe that everyone's medical care should be individually tailored. We all have unique characteristics that need to be considered when deciding a treatment plan. Communication is paramount. Outside of work, I love rock climbing and surfing; however, most importantly I love spending time with my family.

I grew up in a small town in Northern New York, and joined South Shore Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital in 2012. I completed my undergraduate and medical education as well as my general surgical training and surgical critical care fellowship at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY. I am also fellowship trained in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery from Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. I have had a long-standing passion in bariatric and weight-loss surgery and my goal in joining the South Shore Hospital team was to bring that expertise and opportunity to the South Shore community. The hospital has been very supportive in this endeavor and over the past few years we have created a collaborative team of providers from across institutions to start the South Shore Hospital Center for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. As medical director it has been my pleasure to help the program grow into a strong clinical component  of the department of surgery and create more outreach into the community. I am also actively engaged as a trauma surgeon and have a busy general surgery practice taking care of a variety of disease processes including the minimally invasive management of gallbladder disease, hernia, GERD, hiatal hernias, as well as the surgical management of a variety of other gastrointestinal disorders. When I am not working, I enjoy the simple things in life like relaxing by a large campfire or spending the day at the beach with my family. 

My passion for family medicine is rooted in the ability to take part in the growth and development of my patients as they reach milestones in their lives.

As a family nurse practitioner, it is a privilege to have the opportunity to build connections with my patients throughout their lifetime. Being a strong advocate of patient-centered care, I am committed to supporting my patients in a collaborative manner in order to help them meet and exceed their health goals. In my spare time I enjoy exercising, reading, and spending time with family.
