Last month, The Friends of South Shore Health gathered for their annual meeting at Black Rock Country Club in Hingham, bringing together community members dedicated to supporting South Shore Health.

Dr. Ghushe, an accomplished bariatric and general surgeon, has performed bariatric surgery at South Shore Hospital since 2017.

Made possible by a nearly $142,000 grant from the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation, these modified rooms are calming, controlled spaces aimed at reducing stress, agitation, and anxiety for patients, particularly those who are neurodivergent or on the autism spectrum.

Thomas McCarthy, ChFC®, AIF®, Managing Partner of KAF Wealth Management, was named a finalist for the Community Service Award from the Invest in Others organization, which honors financial advisors nationally for outstanding charitable work. In recognition of McCarthy’s service and commitment, the Invest in Others Charitable Foundation awarded $25,000 to South Shore Health in his honor.

IMPACT Melanoma Foundation and Arbella Insurance recently donated 150 “sun- safe” gift bags to South Shore Hospital’s newest parents and their newborns.

U.S. News & World Report has named South Shore Hospital as a “High Performing” hospital for two adult specialties and five procedures and conditions. “High Performing” is the highest rating a hospital can earn.

The agreement will ensure a seamless and caring experience for Hospice of the South Shore patients and their families.
