My mission is to provide exceptional care to hematology and oncology patients, and support patients and their families when they are at their most vulnerable. 

It is a privilege and an honor to have the opportunity to establish meaningful, long-term relationships with my patients and their families. I believe in open, honest communication and a patient-centered model when formulating a treatment plan. I look forward to supporting my patients not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. 

Outside of work, I enjoy spin classes, going to the beach, and spending time with family and friends. 

My goal as a provider is to provide a listening ear so my patients are aware that I care about their concerns. 

I have been a nurse practitioner in Women's health since 2009. I have enjoyed establishing rapport with my patients over these years. Outside of work, I love traveling, going to the beach, cooking, baking, and spending time with my husband and three children. 

My mission is to teach patients how better health habits can prevent many diseases.

It is a privilege to help people and establish long-term relationships with my patients. I believe that everyone's medical care should be individually tailored. We all have unique characteristics that need to be considered when deciding a treatment plan. Communication is paramount. Outside of work, I love exercising, working in my garden, and spending time at the Cape; however, most importantly I love spending time with my family.
 

My mission is to provide compassionate and effective care to treat patients in critical moments in order to ensure the best possible outcomes through prompt intervention and evidence-based practices.

I completed residency at Boston Medical Center. I believe in providing evidence-based and compassionate care at all times and in honest and open communication with my patients about their condition and treatment. Outside of work, I enjoy rock climbing and spending time outdoors and with my family.

My mission is to provide safe, high quality, patient centered care in collaboration with the patient, their family, and other providers on the care team to promote the patient’s goals of care and overall well-being.

It is a privilege to advance my role as a nurse anesthetist at South Shore Hospital. It is of utmost importance to me that I gain the trust of my patients and involve them in the plan of care with effective communication and transparency. Being an advocate for my patients during the perioperative period is my priority. When I am not at work, I enjoy gardening, hiking, spending time at the beach, and cooking.

I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College and my medical degree from Loyola University in Chicago. Upon graduation from Loyola, I returned to my native Long Island to complete my residency in pediatrics at SUNY Stony Brook. Following an additional year as Chief Resident, I returned to Massachusetts to settle. Professionally, I cherish the privilege of establishing long-term relationships with my patients' families and playing a small role in assisting a child to blossom into a happy, healthy, well-adjusted adult. In my spare time, I enjoy kayaking, practicing yoga, going to the beach, and spending time with my husband and five children.
 

As a primary care clinician, I have the opportunity to develop a trusting partnership with my patients and their families to help them live a healthy lifestyle. I enjoy diagnosing and treating the various illnesses that affect patients during their lifetime, and take great pleasure in seeing them recover. It is important for me to listen carefully to my patients' concerns so we can work together to meet their individual healthcare needs.  

In my free time, I enjoy swimming, running, cycling, and skiing, in addition to spending time with my husband, adult children, and our new granddaughter.

M. Reza Afrasiabi, MD

My mission is to provide every patient on the acute care surgery and trauma surgery services with the highest quality of care inside and outside of the operating room.

I was raised in Southern California and moved to Boston to complete my undergraduate degree in mathematics at MIT.  After completing general surgery residency in Chicago, I moved back to Boston to complete fellowships in Surgical Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery at the Brigham. I love the outdoors and spend my free time snowboarding and hiking throughout the northeast with my friends and family.

I joined the South Shore Hospital medical staff in 2014.  With lifelong ties to the South Shore community, I know the community well and highly value informed and timely communication among medical specialists and primary care to promote and expedite the care of my patients.

In addition to treating patients, I also teach resident doctors in training and volunteer my time with the Podiatry profession's state society.  Ensuring the growth and future of Podiatry, in a complex world of health care, are critical to meet the needs of our population.

I provide comprehensive care to vascular patients. This ranges from the treatment of peripheral arterial disease, venous insufficiency and aneurysms, as well as hemo dialysis access.

I also have advanced wound care certification, as well as a board certification in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.

I enjoy traveling to difference parts of the country and sampling unique cultures and cuisine. Having grown up in the Boston area, I enjoy watching sports with the local teams, and playing golf.
