Patient Departure Lounge

The Patient Departure Lounge at South Shore Hospital is a comfortable, safe place to wait when you have been discharged and your transportation has not yet arrived. The Patient Departure Lounge is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Your care team will inform you if you are eligible to wait in the Patient Departure Lounge.

Conveniently located in the South Lobby, patients can enjoy comfortable seating, Wi-Fi, TV, and light refreshments while they wait. Restrooms are close by. Your ride can avoid the hassle of parking and drive directly to the South Entrance near the Emergency Department to pick you up where they will be greeted by the Patient Departure Lounge Ambassador.

Before heading to the lounge, make sure you have everything you need. Bring all of your personal items from your hospital room, including cellphone, phone charger, wallet, keys, clothes, coat, shoes, discharge paperwork, and prescriptions with you. South Shore Hospital is not liable for personal items that are misplaced or left behind.
