State-of-the-Art CT Technology Increases Efficiency, Improves Patient Experience

Exciting, new advanced imaging technology was recently unveiled at South Shore Hospital.

A partnership with GE has brought a state of the art Computed Tomography (CT) scanner with “Effortless Workflow” technology to the hospital’s imaging department. 

GE’s Ascend CT scanner, the second of its kind in the U.S., uses artificial intelligence and is designed to increase efficiency and improve patient comfort, while providing superior image quality. 

South Shore Hospital technologists Kara Pomroy (pictured) and Jeannette Preston, along with radiologist Ori Preis, MD were interviewed about their day-to-day experience using the new scanner technology for a video GE filmed at the hospital in May.
