South Shore Health's COVID-19 testing site relocates

Since this post was published, changes have been made to COVID-19 testing at South Shore Health. For the latest testing information, please visit our COVID-19 page.

South Shore Health’s COVID-19 drive-thru testing site has been relocated to South Shore Medical Center at 143 Longwater Drive in Norwell. It replaces the previous testing site at Union Point in Weymouth which was decommissioned.

Testing for COVID-19 continues to be a critical process for identifying and containing the spread of the virus. While the Union Point testing site served the community well, the new location is part of South Shore Health’s ongoing plans to streamline services and reopen business operations safely and efficiently.

Testing will be conducted under the medical center’s south entrance awning via a single, drive-thru lane. The drive-thru testing site is available to members of the public following screening for COVID-19 symptoms via phone.

Only patients who have been pre-screened and meet state testing guidelines will be eligible to be tested. Signs will be placed on site to direct patients.

The drive-thru site will also service scheduled surgical and obstetrical patients to provide for the highest level of safety and care for patients and staff prior to surgery.

Testing will be scheduled seven days-a-week between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Hours are subject to change. Patients who meet state testing guidelines will be given an appointment over the phone.
