Nurse leaders and emerging nurse leaders from across South Shore Health ensured we were well-represented at the December Organization of Nurse Leaders (ONL) Winter Quarterly Meeting.

On December 8, 2023, nurse leaders and emerging nurse leaders from across South Shore Health attended the Organization of Nurse Leaders (ONL) Winter Quarterly Meeting in Framingham.

The meeting was an opportunity for our colleagues to connect with peers and participate in poster presentations on transformative nursing and patient care practices.

The event also featured a keynote speech on nurse well-being, which is an area focus for nurse leaders across South Shore Health.

The speech, given by Bernadette Melnyk, PhD, offered valuable insight on creating cultures of nurse well-being and discussed tactics leaders could use with their teams.

In addition, the four South Shore Health colleagues below had abstracts accepted for poster presentation:

  • John Whitehouse, CRNA, MSN, MBA: “First-Pass Intubation Success by Nurse Anesthetists in Critically Ill Adult COVID-19 Patients Outside the Operating Room”
  • Sharon Stemm, MSN, RN, NE-BC: “Non-clinical Colleagues Supporting Emergency Department Nurses during High Patient Volume: Internal Disaster Resource Team”
  • Kathy Melvin, MSN, RN-BC and Cindy Dutton, MSN, RN-BC: “Care More. Click Less.”

Congratulations to all and thank you for sharing your expertise with your peers!

We’re grateful to all of the nurse leaders and emerging nurse leaders who attended the meeting and ensured that our Health System was well-represented.
