Physical Therapy Dept. at SSMC is Moving to South Shore Health’s Outpatient Care Center
The Physical Therapy and Wellness department at South Shore Medical Center is moving to Physical Therapy and Wellness at the South Shore Health Outpatient Care Center in Hingham.
The move, scheduled for the end of December, will give patients access to a larger space with more resources and equipment, said Jackie Kilrain, PT, Executive Director of Rehabilitation Services at South Shore Health.
“Our team is moving too, so the therapists our patients have worked with previously will continue to offer the personalized care and individual treatment plans in this larger location,” she said.
“Everything we do today at South Shore Medical Center in Norwell, we’ll be doing in January at the South Shore Health Outpatient Care Center Hingham,” Kilrain said.
Physical therapy services include post-surgical rehabilitation and post-injury rehabilitation, as well as treatment and evaluation for orthopedic or sports-related injuries.
Patients will also have access to occupational therapy and hand therapy at the Hingham location, said Rehabilitation Manager Daniel Murray, MS, PT.
Located the second floor of the South Shore Health Outpatient Care Center, Physical Therapy and Wellness opened in 2012, Murray said.
The large, bright and open space is well appointed with a wide array of gym and exercise equipment including weight machines, stationary bicycles and treadmills, as well as treatment beds.
“We’re looking forward to having our entire team in one location,” said Murray, who noted plans are underway to create an expanded area for hand therapy services.
“We’re continually looking at ways we can better meet our patients’ individual needs and help them reach their wellness goals.”
