South Shore Health’s Cardiac Catheterization Lab is the third busiest in Massachusetts, and its team performs over 650 percutaneous coronary interventions (PCIs) and 3,500 total procedures annually — including more than 200 emergency heart attack intervention procedures.
The Health System recently marked an important milestone with a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate a full equipment replacement and room upgrade to its three-room Cath Lab at South Shore Hospital.
This investment reinforces South Shore Health's commitment to delivering exceptional cardiac care for its community.
"To meet this demand and continue providing high-quality care, we’ve invested in cutting-edge Philips equipment that expands our diagnostic and treatment capabilities,” said Anthony Marks, MD, Chief of Cardiology and Cardiac Catheterization Lab Director.
“The equipment upgrade was the result of a thoughtful, multidisciplinary process over the last ten months. A dedicated team of clinicians, operational, facilities, and supply chain leaders came together in a planning effort to ensure that we implemented the best clinical tools for our patient care needs. This new technology, in a new collaboration with Philips, allows us to advance our capabilities in cardiovascular care for the South Shore community and beyond,” said Tim Lynch, Vice President, Clinical Services.
These upgrades reaffirm our commitment to serving our community with the highest standard of cardiac care.
Thank you to all who joined us to commemorate this achievement and to everyone who made it possible!
