Recently, Neil Ghushe, MD and the Bariatric Surgery Team reached an impressive milestone: he performed his 1,000th bariatric surgery at South Shore Hospital

Dr. Ghushe, who leads the South Shore Hospital Center for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery in collaboration with Brigham and Women’s Surgical Associates, has been performing bariatric surgery at South Shore Hospital since 2017.

“Over the past seven-plus years, Dr. Ghushe and his team have built a highly regarded program that provides life-changing care to patients on the South Shore,” said Fred Millham, MD, Chief of Surgery. “This milestone is a testament to Dr. Ghushe’s commitment both to his craft and to his patients. He is a tremendously skilled surgeon and we’re fortunate to have his expertise and leadership on the South Shore.”

In addition to bariatric surgery, Dr. Ghushe is also an accomplished general surgeon, regularly treating patients who need care for hernias, gallbladder concerns, hiatal hernia repair and anti-reflux surgery, and other conditions.

Thank you to Dr. Ghushe and to all of the team members who made this milestone possible!

Congratulations!
