The Friends of South Shore Health Step Up with Treadmill Donation
Heart Healthy class members like Patty Johnston have some extra pep in their step, thanks to the new top-of-the line treadmill now up and running at the Center for Physical Wellness.
A donation from The Friends of South Shore Health paid for the new fitness equipment, which is being put to good use by Cardiac Rehabilitation graduates taking part in the Heart Healthy program.
Recommended for patients as an extension program following cardiac rehab, the Heart Healthy class helps participants maintain fitness and continue to build strength and endurance.
Johnston says the class is “something she cannot quit” and recommends the program to friends, family and even her physicians.
Community Exercise Program Manager Jennifer Logan said the new treadmill has been a great asset for the class.
“It gets people excited about coming in to work out and shows them we’re investing in their health and wellness by making sure we have the latest equipment to help them reach their goals,” she said.
