Boston Magazine has named 41 physicians and surgeons affiliated with South Shore Health to its 2019 ‘Top Doctors’ list. The group represents 17 areas of specialty.

“We are delighted, and so proud, that Boston Magazine’s 2019 ‘Top Doctors’ list includes many talented providers who are affiliated with our health system,” said Gene E. Green, President &  CEO, South Shore Health.

“As a community partner, our health system, and accomplished medical team, work each day toward the common goal of providing exceptional care that the people of our region depend on,” Green said.

“This list of prominent physicians represents what patients south of Boston already know; innovative, world class medical care is accessible to all residents of Greater Boston here on the South Shore.”

The magazine’s annual list is drawn from a survey conducted by Castle Connolly Medical, Ltd.  Castle Connolly’s physician-led research team uses mail and phone surveys and electronic ballots to ask physicians and the medical leadership of leading hospitals and healthcare organizations to identify highly skilled, exceptional doctors.

South Shore Health affiliated doctors who were cited in the 17 areas of specialty include eight from Cardiology, five from Obstetrics and Gynecology, four from Ophthalmology and three from Surgery. Twenty one doctors were named in 13 additional areas of specialty.

“I have practiced as part of this community for 17 years and believe the physicians at South Shore Health are all outstanding,” said Kimberly Dever, MD, President of SSH Medical Staff.  “We are fortunate to have a very talented and dedicated medical staff.  It is heartwarming to see so many acknowledged and appreciated for their hard work and the caring they show every day to the patients in our community.”
