Me McBride is this year’s recipient of the Marjorie S. Bryant Award for outstanding patient care. Me, or as some of her patients glowingly refer to her as the “Earthly Angel”, works as a Home Health Aide for the Home Care Division at South Shore Health.

Me was recently recognized at a ceremony with her colleagues, family, and the family of Marjorie S. Bryant.

“I am so grateful and honored to carry on the great tradition of Marjorie S. Bryant,” McBride said. “I recognize daily that my success has always been tied to the help of others. We care. We work together as a team. It’s always we, and never just me.”

The award was established 24 years ago, in honor of Marjorie S. Bryant, past president and former board member of the Braintree VNA. Direct care colleagues with five or more years of service to the Home Care Division (South Shore Visiting Nurses Association, Hospice of the South Shore, and Home & Health Resources) are eligible to be nominated.

“Me is gentle, yet assertive when she sees her patients, and everyone she comes in contact with immediately respects and loves her,” said Tammie Ryan, RN, Director of South Shore Visiting Nurses Association, “She is one of the most trusted and sought after home health aides and we are so proud of her.”

Past award recipients and nominees have included nurses, physical, occupational and speech therapists, clinical social workers and certified home health aides. Home care colleagues are invited to submit written nominations for individuals who exemplify the aspects of caring every year.
