Colleague Spotlight: Celebrating Ralph Volpe!

Each month, South Shore Health gives the Colleague Spotlight Award to a colleague who demonstrates exemplary behaviors, actions, and/or work practices that reflect the values of South Shore Health.

We're pleased to announce that Ralph Volpe is the recipient of the Colleague Spotlight Award for September!

Ralph is a physical therapist with South Shore VNA. Recently, Ralph arrived at a patient's home and noticed smoke coming from a house across the street.

Ralph called 9-1-1, then knocked on the door of the home to alert the family. The family was unaware that the house was on fire but was able to get out safely, thanks to Ralph's intervention.

After the fire department arrived and the situation was under control, Ralph continued with his scheduled patient visit - and didn't tell any of his colleagues about what had happened.

"He's kind of just an understated guy," said Francis O'Kane, MS. "He gets a lot of positive outcomes and he gets letters and kudos for the work he does."
