Colleague Spotlight: Celebrating Lisa Hennessey!

Each month, South Shore Health gives the Colleague Spotlight Award to a colleague who demonstrates exemplary behaviors, actions, and/or work practices that reflect the values of South Shore Health.

We're proud to celebrate Lisa Hennessey as our Colleague Spotlight Award recipient for December!

Lisa is a Medical Assistant Coordinator at the South Shore Health Center for Wound Healing.

Lisa's nomination was inspired by her willingness to consistently go above and beyond to comfort patients and make them feel at home.

"She can pick up immediately when a patient is having a bad day or a patient is not themselves," said Karen Donahue, Operations Manager for the South Shore Health Center for Wound Healing. "[She] will bring that to the attention of the nurse if immediate care is needed."

Last year, Lisa was a runner-up in the HeroesFIRST Healthcare Heroes contest, a national award recognizing caregivers who dedicate themselves to enhancing patient experience.

Lisa was nominated by an outside vendor who provides linen services to the Center for Wound Healing.

"From the outside looking in, you can truly see how much Lisa genuinely cares about her patients' paths to recovery," the company said in its nomination. "She creates a light, positive atmosphere for everyone."

"These patients have been coming here for months, years," said Karen. "She actually acknowledges them as like part of her family."
