South Shore Hospital has opened a new 24-bed intermediate care unit that treats patients with specialized medical needs like emphysema and congestive heart failure. Read the Weymouth News story.

The new unit, located on the first floor near the hospital’s Main Entrance, doubles short-stay capacity from 10 to 20 beds.

This is the third consecutive award for the Richard and Joann Aubut Critical Care Unit and its team of caregivers.

The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) has awarded a silver-level Beacon Award for Excellence to the Richard and Joann Aubut Critical Care Unit (CCU) at South Shore Hospital. This recognition marks the fourth consecutive Beacon Award for the CCU and its dedicated team of caregivers.
