Dr. O'Brien is Medical Director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at South Shore Health. 

As a Maternal-Fetal Medicine physician, I am dedicated to caring for women and families navigating high-risk and medically complex pregnancies with expertise, compassion, and individualized attention. 

I strive to integrate evidence-based medicine with a holistic approach that recognizes the physical, emotional, and social factors that shape each patient’s experience. 

I am also committed to advocating for equitable healthcare and improving access and outcomes for marginalized and underserved communities.

My goal is to educate, support, and empower women to make choices about their health that they feel good!

I believe in providing women with education and options that empower them to make healthy decisions that contribute to better health for themselves and their families. I see the importance and benefit in a model of shared decision making. When I'm not midwifing it up I like to write, read, run, bake and hang with my kids and husband!

My mission is to provide the best primary care for my patients to prevent disease. This includes regular follow up of chronic conditions and keeping patients up to date with routine screenings.

It is a privilege to provide primary care and establish long-term relationships with my patients. I believe that everyone's medical care should be individually tailored, and communication is key to providing excellent care. Outside of work, I love to spend time with family and friends. My hobbies include skiing, quilting and cooking. 

It is truly an honor to participate in the care and lives of my patients. My passion is driven by the bonds I build with my patients over the course of their lives and the enjoyment and satisfaction I hold in treating them to be as healthy and pain free as possible. It is to the extent that I feel that  "I truly have the best job in the world."

I strive to provide excellent care to my patients and to help them understand their conditions through education.

As a rheumatologist, my goal is to take care of my patients as individuals and to work together with them to find the most effective treatment plan. I am passionate about helping patients with rheumatologic conditions find relief with the therapies we have available today. Outside of work, I enjoy playing tennis, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends.
