I find great satisfaction in treating the whole person and not just their illness. Understanding a patient's unique outlook on life is paramount to providing proper care. Each patient has a voice which should not only be heard but appreciated.
Outside of work, I enjoy time in the woods; hiking, fishing and kayaking with family and friends.

Entering the health care field has been a great joy and privilege. Working with patients for over 10 years has illustrated that everyone's needs are unique. The root of the word “doctor” originated from the latin word docere, which means to teach. My philosophy as a doctor is to teach and educate my patients on their conditions and general health.
I love to learn and, therefore, I chose being a doctor as my profession. Being a physician means a life time of learning about diseases and medicine, but more importantly, I get to learn the story behind each of my patients.
Outside of work, I love to learn to sail, and flying. I am also an avid rock climber, hiker, and traveler.

My treatment philosophy is to help educate individuals on their role in disease prevention and develop relationships with patients—working as a team to manage both chronic and acute health issues. I believe that each individual has their own unique set of circumstances that influence their health and working together to overcome barriers is an essential part of providing healthcare. I consider it a privilege getting to know patients and families and always look at the big picture when caring for individuals. Outside of work I love spending time with my family, going to the beach, gardening and hiking. I am teaching myself how to ice skate so I can play hockey with my boys!
