As a medical student, I was unsure what my clinical focus would be. Once I saw my first delivery, it was clear that this was my future. I started my internship and residency training here in Boston. After moving to California and spending several years practicing there, I knew I wanted to return to Massachusetts. I have been at South Shore Hospital for nearly ten years now and am grateful to work with the women of the South Shore. After many years practicing both Obstetrics and Gynecology, I realized my true love was the Birthing Unit and transitioned to a Laborist position. I am privileged every day to be part of something so amazing and love that I get to share in such an important family experience.

My treatment philosophy and ultimate goal is to collaborate with families to achieve the best birth experience while helping to ensure the wellbeing of mom and baby.

Being a physician is an honor and a privilege I have enjoyed since graduating from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1979.  As my patients know I am interested in your life, your passions and the Orthopaedic issues that frustrate you and how I might be of assistance to you.  Surgery is not always a solution.

I take care of newborn infants and their great grandmothers.  In an era of sub-specialization, I am the "silver haired" General Orthopaedist but have maintained my surgical skills and remain confident in my abilities.  I have been fortunate to have treated multiple generations of my friends and neighbors here on the South Shore and work in a hospital committed to clinical excellence and compassionate care.

My goal is to care for our patients as we would our loved ones: with expertise, compassion, and respect.

I grew up in the Chicago area and graduated from University of Chicago before moving to Boston for medical training at Boston University, followed by residency at Boston Medical Center.

I have been a hospitalist attending physician at South Shore Hospital since 2012. I married in 2006 and have two girls.

I came to medicine from the business world, and it has been incredibly rewarding to focus my energy and abilities on helping people who are acutely ill. I believe that really listening to patients and their families is the key to providing exceptional care. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two young children.

I chose family medicine so that I could treat a wide spectrum of medical conditions and so that I could treat all ages, including newborns and multiple generations, in one family. This helps me to treat the whole person because knowing a person's social background is essential. I firmly believe that emotional and mental well-being are key factors in maintaining good overall health.

I grew up in Quincy and love living and working near my family and friends. I enjoy spending time at the beach, traveling to exotic places, going out dancing, skiing, cooking/baking, and following Boston sports teams.

I take great pride in the opportunity to improve patients' lives. Everyone has their own story and I do not view patients as defined by their age or conditions. I seek to work with the individual in order to help them be better. Outside of work, I enjoy golf and spending time with my family. 

I provide comprehensive care to vascular patients. This ranges from the treatment of peripheral arterial disease, venous insufficiency and aneurysms, as well as hemo dialysis access.

I also have advanced wound care certification, as well as a board certification in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.

It is a privilege to help people and establish long-term relationships with my patients. I believe that everyone's medical care should be individually tailored. We all have unique characteristics that need to be considered when deciding a treatment plan. Communication is paramount. 

I enjoy traveling to difference parts of the country and sampling unique cultures and cuisine. Having grown up in the Boston area, I enjoy watching sports with the local teams, and playing golf.

I am Director of GK Dermatology, PC, in Weymouth, Clinical Associate Professor of Dermatology at Brown University, and Professor of Dermatology at Jundiaí Medical School, Brazil. My practice focuses on Medical Dermatology, Phototherapy, and Laser Surgery. I have authored more than 100 articles and chapters and edited 2 monographs and 3 books.

Being trusted as a physician to treat patients', sometimes life threatening, medical conditions is a privilege and responsibility I thrive to honor every day. Helping hospitalized patients and their families to cope with changes during these stressful times is crucial to achieve better medical outcomes and to improve the well-being of the community as a whole. 

Outside of work, I like to watch soccer, Crossfit training, travel the world and take photographs. 

I feel privileged to care for patients from age 18 to 95 and beyond. While I base my practice firmly on research-based evidence, I am aware that much is still unknown in medicine and that guidelines evolve over time. Open communication with my patients helps me respect patients' values and health goals.

Outside of work, you can usually find me exploring the beauty of nature with my four young children.
