Pan-Mass Challenge
South Shore Health's Pan-Mass Challenge team raises money to support patients receiving treatment at the Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center in clinical affiliation with South Shore Hospital. There are almost 10,000 patient visits to the Cancer Center yearly.
The 2021 Pan-Mass Challenge will be held on August 7-8, 2021. Registration for the 2021 PMC opens January 5, 2021 for Heavy Hitters, January 12, 2021 for alumni, and January 19, 2021 for new riders.
The 2021 PMC will include 15 pre-mapped, fully supported route options, ranging from 25 to 211 miles, with varying levels of fundraising goals.
In addition to these fully supported routes, you also have the option to chart your own route and conveniently customize the distance, location, and date of your ride. This “PMC Reimagined” option was implemented due to COVID-19 safety measures and gathering recommendations, and allows you the flexibility to ride where you are most comfortable.
For even more flexibility, you can become a virtual rider. Virtual riders have no fundraising minimum and can choose their own route, log miles over time, or never get on a bike at all, all while supporting South Shore Health.

Why I Ride
Our riders have amazing stories and reasons why they ride. The video below features the story of Kathleen Oliver; who has been riding in the PMC with Team South Shore Health for several years! She joined our team to support quality cancer care, close to home.
