William Tollefsen, MD., M.Sc., MBA, FAEMS, has been appointed Vice Chair of Emergency Medicine and Urgent Care at South Shore Health.

In addition to his current roles in Mobile Integrated Health and EMS, he will be responsible for providing the strategic and clinical leadership for all urgent care providers and staff including the health system’s seven Health Express urgent care centers located between Braintree and Plymouth.

Dr. Tollefsen is board certified in both Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medical Services Medicine. He is the Director of the Office of Emergency Medical Services, Region IV, which serves 61 Massachusetts cities and towns of the Metro-Boston EMS Council. He is also the EMS Medical Director for eight municipal and three private ambulance services on the South Shore, providing medical oversight for more than 400 paramedics.
