South Shore Home Care is proud to announce that Mary Burke Roth, RN has been named Clinician of the Year by the Home Care Alliance of Massachusetts.

The award honors those who have made exceptional accomplishments in home care, while celebrating their hard work, resilience, innovation, and dedication in the industry.

“There is no one more caring than Mary when it comes to ‘giving it her all each and every day,’” said Tammie Ryan, MSN, RN, Director of the South Shore Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) “Mary is always willing to spend the extra time, even if it extends her day, to ensure that each patient she interacts with knows how important they are.”

Roth began her career at South Shore VNA as a general nurse and has been with the organization for 32 years. She has worked with the VNA’s Oncology team, Cardiac team, cared for hospice patients, has extensive knowledge of patients with diabetes, and more recently joined the Infusion team.

According to her peers, her wealth of knowledge and expertise as a home care nurse is immeasurable.

“Her knowledge base is vast, and her home care experience is second to none” said Joyce Cox, RN, BSN, Clinical Nurse Manager, South Shore Home Care. “Over the years, she has cared for members of her colleagues’ families, and has truly earned the respect of her teammates when they see Mary ‘in action.’ We are lucky to have her at the VNA and she is so deserving of this award.”

A resident of Hingham, Roth received her award on Tuesday, November 9 at the Home Care Alliance’s Annual Star Awards, held at Granite Links in Quincy. The event celebrates people and pioneers in home care and recognizes those who make life better for thousands of patients and their families.
