South Shore Health Launches Language Options for Inbound Phone Calls
We are excited to announce that South Shore Health has launched language options for callers to our main (781-624-8800) and hospital (781-624-8000) phone lines.
In partnership with our existing interpreter services vendor CyraCom, we have added Portuguese and Spanish language support, two of the most commonly spoken languages by our patients after English.
“By being more linguistically inclusive, we aim to better serve our diverse patient population and further our commitment to health equity,” explains Adrienne Gerlach, Vice President, Quality and Safety.
This new service is a crucial step toward ensuring that all patients have access to the information and assistance they need. Furthermore, it aligns with best practices utilized at other healthcare organizations.
The new language options will be added to South Shore Medical Center’s main line (781-878-5200) later this year.
