In order to continue to provide the highest level of care and meet the growing needs of our patients, South Shore Health recently upgraded equipment in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab.

“This investment not only enhances our current capabilities, but also allows us to expand the range of services and procedures we can offer – ensuring our community receives the most advanced cardiac care available,” explained Tim Lynch, Vice President of Medicine, Critical Care, and Perioperative Services.

South Shore Health’s Cardiac Catheterization Lab is the third busiest in the state, serving our patients with a 24/7 capacity to diagnose and treat heart conditions. Because some of these cases require urgent attention, our Cath Lab is a critical resource for the entire South Shore region.

With great pride, we welcomed our first patient in one of the three newly renovated rooms earlier this month. The procedure was a success using the new equipment and the patient had a great experience, underscoring our ongoing commitment to the highest quality patient-centered care and clinical expertise.

South Shore Hospital’s Cardiac Catheterization Lab was the first in New England to adopt the revolutionary diagnostic imaging technology, CathWorks FFRangio® System that provides clinicians results in seconds while vastly improving the patient experience.

It is also the recipient of the American Heart Association’s Mission Lifeline® Gold Receiving Quality Achievement Award for its record of prompt treatment of heart attack patients beginning with the 9-1-1 call and continuing throughout hospital treatment.
