Dr. Lisa Gould Given Lifetime Achievement Award

Congratulations to Lisa J. Gould, MD, PhD, who received the prestigious Wound Healing Society (WHS) 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Gould is a practicing plastic surgeon who has dedicated her career to solving difficult wound healing problems. She provides wound consults and surgical care at South Shore Hospital and is the Director of Hyperbaric Medical Services at South Shore Health’s Center for Wound Healing. Dr. Gould is a long-time WHS member, a past president and former member of the Board of Directors and has filled multiple other roles in committee memberships.
“Her exceptional work in the field of wound healing has advanced wound care and research with over 80 peer-reviewed manuscripts and contributions to an additional five book chapters in the field of wound healing,” it was stated in a WHS press release.
“Lisa has worked tirelessly to improve patient care and her research efforts have made a significant impact in the field – WHS appreciates her contributions and is delighted to acknowledge her accomplishments with this award,” said Traci Wilgus, PhD, WHS President.
“Congratulations to Dr. Gould on her well-deserved award! Her dedication to excellence in wound care is truly inspiring and has a huge impact on the lives of our patients,” said Linda Oliver, Vice President, South Shore Medical Center and Ambulatory Services.
Earlier this year, Dr. Gould was given the prestigious Robert Warriner Award from the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care (AAWC). This recognition is given to individuals who exhibit profound understanding of the complexities of the discipline and a genuine concern for the well-being and advancement of others.
