Dinner Reception Celebrates South Shore Health's Incredible Volunteers
Recently, South Shore Health wrapped up Volunteer Appreciation Week with a heartfelt celebration: an appreciation dinner honoring our 170+ dedicated volunteers!
Held on a beautiful 70-degree day at Granite Links in Quincy, the event was a chance to recognize the vital role volunteers play across South Shore Health.
Our volunteers bring a wide range of talents and compassion to their roles, which include:
- Ham Radio Operator
- Lobby and Front Desk Greeter
- Dog Therapy Handler
- Clerical Assistant
- Eucharistic Minister
...and many more!
They span generations—from teens to age 92!—and many have been serving for years, including three individuals with more than two decades of service.
We’re also proud to count many of our colleagues among those who volunteer in addition to their regular roles.
Volunteer Coordinator Katie Howard captured the spirit of the evening in her remarks.
“Thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers," she said. "You are my colleagues, friends, and mentors. You are community leaders, parents, grandparents, but most of all, you are my inspiration.”
We are equally grateful for the site supervisors across South Shore Health and the incredible Volunteer Services team of Amy Parker, Katie Howard, and Corey Radulski, who ensure a welcoming and meaningful experience for every one of our volunteers.
Their ongoing support is key to our program’s success and the strong, lasting relationships we’ve built with our volunteers.
To every volunteer who gives their time, heart, and energy— we sincerely thank you!
