About This Event
Our one-day course will help you develop an understanding of labor, the birth process and post-partum recovery. Coping skills include breathing and relaxation techniques and guided imagery exercises. Medical considerations will be discussed. Immediate newborn care and breastfeeding will be briefly discussed. You should complete your classes approximately one month before your due date (earlier with twins). Plan to wear something comfortable on the day of the class. There will be short breaks throughout the day as well as a lunch break. A tour of the maternity suite will be part of your class; this includes the Labor and Delivery and Post-Partum areas.
Please consider registering for our Newborn Essentials class which addresses the first six weeks of your newborn’s life, our Ready for Breastfeeding class will help ensure a smooth start for you and baby and our Infant/Child Safety and CPR class which is a non-certification course which teaches adults to perform CPR on infants and children up to the age of eight.
Please only register one attendee. Partners are welcome and encouraged to attend. You do not need to register them.
Classes will be held in OB classrooms A & B on Pratt 2 unless noted otherwise.
