For many people, pain is a daily reality. Whether it's acute pain following trauma or long-term pain due to a chronic condition, too many people simply accept debilitating pain as a fact of life.

At the Pain Management Clinic, patient's pain is addressed through multidisciplinary treatment plans with a simple goal in mind: to reduce your pain and improve your quality of life.

The Pain Clinic team includes referring board-certified physicians, primary care physicians, physical therapists, nurse practitioners, experienced nurses, and other specialists.

The mission of the Pain Clinic is dedicated to helping patients manage their pain and improve function in a compassionate and collaborative environment. 

The Pain Management Clinic supports its mission in the following ways:

  • Working jointly with patients and their caregivers to formulate an individualized treatment plan
  • Working in conjunction with referring providers and other specialists to execute this plan
  • Minimizing the use of chronic medications 
  • Appropriate use of minimally invasive procedures

Yes. As policy, the Pain Management Clinic requires a referral from a physician, even if your insurance does not. 

Your primary care physician or a specialist involved in your care must refer to you the clinic. If you have questions about the referral process, please call 781-624-8352.

You'll be evaluated by a registered nurse and a nurse practitioner or a physician. They will review your medical history and evaluate your problem in order to get a better understanding of what's causing your pain. Understanding the pain is the first step toward developing a treatment plan. 

Depending on your situation, treatment plans may include interventional pain management therapies offered at the Pain Management Clinic, medication recommendations with monitoring, referrals to physical therapy, behavioral therapy, and neurosurgery to develop a multi-model approach.
