Man with shoulder pain

For many people, pain is a daily reality. Whether it's acute pain following trauma or long-term pain due to a chronic condition, too many people simply accept debilitating pain as a fact of life.

At the Pain Management Clinic, patients are offered relief from pain through comprehensive evaluations and innovative treatment plans with a simple goal in mind: to reduce your pain and improve your quality of life.

The Pain Management Clinic team includes referring physicians, primary care physicians, physical therapists, and other specialists working together on your care, with a focus on providing a unique, personalized approach.

The team includes board-certified pain management anesthesiologists, as well as experienced nurses who will monitor your progress.

Yes. As policy, the Pain Management Clinic requires a referral from a physician, even if your insurance does not.

Your primary care physician or a specialist involved in your care must refer to you the clinic. If you have questions about the referral process, please call 781-624-8352.

You'll be evaluated by a registered nurse and a nurse practitioner or a physician. They will review your medical history and evaluate your problem in order to get a better understanding of what's causing your pain. Understanding the pain is the first step toward developing a treatment plan.

Depending on your situation, treatment plans may include interventional pain management therapies offered at the Pain Management Clinic, medication recommendations with monitoring, referrals to physical therapy, behavioral therapy, and neurosurgery to develop a multi-model approach.
