Yes. As policy, the Pain Management Clinic requires a referral from a physician, even if your insurance does not. We will need your contact information, demographics, insurance information, medication list, doctor's notes, and recent imaging if applicable.

Your primary care physician or a specialist involved in your care must refer you to the clinic. If you have questions about the referral process, please call 781-624-8352.

You'll be evaluated by a nurse practitioner or a physician. They will review your medical history and evaluate your problem in order to get a better understanding of what's causing your pain. Understanding the pain is the first step toward developing a treatment plan.

Depending on your situation, treatment plans may include interventional pain management therapies offered at the Pain Management Clinic, referrals to physical therapy, behavioral therapy, and neurosurgery to develop a multi-modal approach.
