Tick Bites
Quick and easy access to tick-bite treatments
Ticks are common around the South Shore and bites happen year-round. Most tick bites aren't painful, and require simple removal of the tick with a tweezers.
However, some ticks carry bacteria that transmit Lyme Disease and other illnesses.
When should I seek treatment for a tick bite?
- A tick has been attached more than 36 hours
- You are experiencing a rash or bump, including a bulls-eye
- You are experiencing flu-like symptoms, including a headache, fever, chills, or muscle and joint pain
- You think the bite is infected
- You think you were bitten by a deer tick
If possible, bring the tick or a photo of the tick with you to Health Express. Find a location here.
