Pathology plays a crucial role in medicine, impacting nearly all aspects of patient care.

With that in mind, South Shore Health recently upgraded its Pathology Lab with two new state-of-the-art Mopec Maestro Adjustable Height Grossing Stations, replacing those that were 30 years old and original to the building. Our colleagues use grossing stations to prepare biopsied tissue samples for examination.

“These new stations will enhance our laboratory operations and support our ongoing efforts to provide the best service possible to our patients”, explains Benjamin Edwards, Core Lab Manager for Anatomic Pathology.

The new workstations improve both safety and efficiency for colleagues, featuring adjustable heights for user comfort, advanced ventilation to reduce formalin exposure, and a touchscreen for easy monitoring of airflow and filter changes. In addition to safety, the new stations enhance workflow with adjustable lighting, customizable shelving, and programmable timers.

We extend our thanks to the Engineering team and IT department, who worked tirelessly to ensure a smooth installation, with no disruption to lab services.
