Generosity took center stage at South Shore Health’s 2025 Gala, where a record-breaking $1.2 million was raised to support lifesaving Emergency Services.

Held on October 17 at the Marriott Boston Quincy, the elegant evening united more than 500 guests in celebration of care, compassion, and commitment to the South Shore community.

“When every second counts, our emergency teams are ready to deliver expert, compassionate care for our community,” said Allen L. Smith, MD, MS, President and CEO of South Shore Health. “This year’s Gala showed just how deeply our community believes in that mission. “The extraordinary generosity we witnessed empowers our caregivers with the resources, technology, and support they need to save lives."

The event’s success was fueled by a dedicated group of sponsors and generous donors whose impact will be felt across South Shore Health’s emergency, trauma, and critical care services.

Alan McKim, founder and former CEO of Clean Harbors, led the way with a record-setting $100,000 presenting sponsorship, building on his ongoing philanthropy — including a transformational $5.3 million gift from the McKim Family Foundation earlier this year.

Hoping to inspire others to donate, Digger and Susan Donahue made a substantial pledge before the gala, highlighting their longstanding commitment to South Shore Health.

The evening, emceed by Ayla Brown, featured dinner, live and silent auctions, and inspiring stories of courage and care that brought South Shore Health’s mission to life.

The event ended on a high-note when Frank and Denise Teixeira kicked-off an ambitious raise-the-paddle with a $100,000 gift.

Auctioneer Harrison Stebbins led the crowd to help raise $441,000 to support South Shore Health’s commitment to advancing community health.

“Philanthropy helps fuel our future,” added Lauren Spencer, SVP, Chief Development Officer, South Shore Health. “The record-breaking success of this year’s Gala is a testament to the South Shore’s incredible spirit and our shared belief in caring for one another."
