Each year, more than 1,000 new patients seek care at the Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center in clinical affiliation with South Shore Hospital. Funds raised by our Boston Marathon Team team support the patients receiving care at our Cancer Center. In the last seven years, our Boston Marathon team has raised more than $1 million for cancer care in our community.

In addition to supporting a great cause, Team SSH runners have access to a comprehensive program to support their fundraising and training efforts. Team SSH is a proud partner of the Marathon Coalition, which means our team members receive an individualized training program with the support of professional running coaches. Training runs are scheduled every Saturday morning on the Marathon course. Our team members will also learn from and train with runners from other Boston Marathon charities in the program. In addition to the support of the Marathon Coalition, Team SSH members are fully supported in their fundraising efforts by the South Shore Health Foundation Staff.
