As part of a community-based healthcare organization, South Shore Health System colleagues strive each day to connect with those in need. On November 20, employees gave their time, money, and food donations to the Weymouth Food Pantry to help provide Thanksgiving meals for those who otherwise may not have one.

During the month of November, South Shore Health System colleagues collected about 20 boxes of food, donated gift cards, and raised more than $400 in cash to help residents who look to the Weymouth Food Pantry for support. South Shore Health System’s Emergency Medical Services team, the EMS provider for the Town of Weymouth, delivered the donations.

Members of the Information Services (IS) team also gave their time to the Weymouth Food Pantry and delivered about 80 Thanksgiving meals to families throughout the town. Working in teams, the IS crews visited eight to 10 households each. Recipients were given full Thanksgiving meals, including turkey and side dishes to enjoy over the holiday.

Weymouth food pantry offers food assistance and education in a community where one in 10 residents struggle to afford food.
